If you happened to watch CBS Sunday Morning this past weekend, you may have caught a familiar face -- Mix 94.9 artist Alessia Cara.

As if the Grammy Award-winning artist was new to the music scene, the "Scars to Your Beautiful" artist was featured in a Sunday Morning feature titled "Introducing Alessia Cara."

CBS correspondent Lee Cowan interacts with Cara at her parent's home in Ontario, Canada -- the same home she grew up singing in and where she began filming and posting her Youtube videos.

Regarding her bedroom closet, Cara said, "Most of [the videos], yeah, if you watch them back, you can see some clothes hanging in the background and very dim lighting...it was in here."

Cara goes on to share about signing with Def Jam Recordings at just 16 years old and the phone call that preceded it: "Well, I think the natural reaction as a 16-year old girl would be, like, this is fake, this is a scam...I did not believe them." It was only after her parents got involved and gave their blessing that Cara began pursuing her music career.

The 8-minute feature, Cara also shares details about her family, her fans, criticism and coming of age while in the spotlight.
