ST. CLOUD -- Traffic will be detoured around a stretch of 33rd Avenue in St. Cloud starting Monday.

The road will be closed from 1st Street North to 8th Street North. Detours will be posted.

Crews will be doing a full depth mill and overlay on 33rd Avenue North from 1st Street North to 5th Street North. Underground utilities and road reconstruction will take place from 5th Street North to 8th Street North.

Also, a one-block stretch of 3rd Street North will get new pavement between 33rd and 34th Avenues. The 3rd Street North and 33rd Avenue intersection is also getting a new signal installed and starting Monday, the intersection will be controlled by four-way stop signs. The new signal is expected to be operational by July 21st.

Part of 33rd Avenue is expected to open in mid-July with the remaining portion between 8th and 12th Street to open by the end of August.
