CATS VS. CUCUMBER VIDEOS HAVE GONE VIRAL

I'm sure you've seen the Cat vs. Cucumber videos that have gone viral as of late. At Christmas time, my family and I were all enjoying compilation videos of cats leaping into the air after discovering a cucumber behind them. I have to admit, the videos are funny and eduemonic, (I'm using my word of the day) but apparently not for the cats.

ARE CATS AFRAID OF SNAKES? 

Apparently, many people think that cats are afraid of snakes, so this is a fear related reaction. Although the prank can have lasting,derogitory effects, it's not because of fear. Cats actually hunt snakes just like mice and other small rodents. The fear factor comes from the sudden appearance of an unfamiliar object.

Subjecting them to ongoing pranks such as these can cause your animal to fear you, their food dish, the location it happened in, and it can be ongoing. I learned just how true this can be with my dog Sampson, when his chain got wrapped around the legs of a charcoal grill. Once he thought the grill was chasing him, he became fearful of his food dish, of anything the color black, and stil to this day, is recovering from that incedent that happened when he was just four months old. He's afraid if his food dish moves! NO kidding.
