ST. STEPHEN - A large amount of corn stalk bales went up in flames Monday.  The Stearns County Sheriff's Office says the call came in just after 5:00 p.m. to a farmsite at 6494 on County Road 5 in Brockway Township near St. Stephen.

The corn stalks on the farm were located away from the out buildings on the property.  The pile of corn stalks required a back hoe to be brought in to the property to break them apart to put out the fire.

The farm is owned by 42-year-old Cory Yamry of St. Stephen.  No one was hurt.  There was no other damage other than to the corn stalks.

The St. Stephen Fire Department was assisted by the Rice and Sartell Fire Departments.
