A 90+ year tradition continued yesterday (Monday) as The Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest arrived at Coney Island. Perennial favorite Joey Chestnut gobbled up 62 dogs for the win, but it was short of his world record of 68.

Takeru Kobayashi, the most famous competitive eater refused to sign an exclusive contract with the dubiously named Major League Eating, so he was not allowed in this year’s contest. He held an alternative competition and jammed down 69 hot dogs. You can read more on that here. Watch the video below of the ESPN 'sports' report of the results.

I got a big laugh at what Joey is holding in his hand. As sports figures often do, he is holding a product in his hands during the 'after-game' interview.
