As I was checking the weather this morning I saw that a few Central Minnesota counties were in a Red Flag weather warning for this afternoon, ending at 7 PM. I had no idea what a Red Flag warning was so I did some internet digging and here is what I found.

A Red Flag warning shows up when critical fire weather conditions could occur. Things like low humidity, strong wind gusts, and warm temperatures all factor into this warning. All three of those things perfectly describe the weather for this afternoon.

The National Weather Service warns that any fire that is started has the potential to take off rapidly, and outdoor burning is NOT recommended. Remember what we all learned in elementary school, only you can prevent fires!
