The Foley Police Department was called to the 200 block of Highway 23 last (Monday) night after 10:00 p.m. for a report of a stalled car in the water on the road. Officers found several cars trying to travel on Highway 23.
There is a slight risk of severe thunderstorms across much of central Minnesota into western Wisconsin through tonight as a complex of thunderstorms is expected to push southeast across the region. More storms are possible Friday and Friday night.
A line of thunderstorms moved through north-central Minnesota early Thursday morning. The National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Eastern Todd County and Western Morrison County.
Storms developing this afternoon across North Dakota will continue east into northern MN, before starting to angle southeast toward Ladysmith and Eau Claire late tonight, with this activity remaining largely north of I-94.
Dangerous heat will develop today as highs reach well into the 90s along with dew points in the high 70s. This will result in afternoon heat indices from 100 to 110 degrees. The winds will become northerly tonight ushering in lower dew points. Even though it will be hot again on Friday, the lower dew points will only yield heat indices in the 95 to 100 degree range.
