The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory in effect from 7 PM tonight through 6 PM Tuesday evening for most of Central and Southern Minnesota. Expect winds 25-30 mph, with occasional gusts above 45 mph.
Tough to complain about a few clouds today in Minnesota. The National Weather Service's latest (5:35 PM CT) Local Hurricane Statement for the Miami area is warning of Irma's expected impact -- and it should get everyone's attention. (Hint: It's not good.)
Ok, first things first: Minnesota has an official 'Summer Glory Index' to measure the awesomeness of summer weather in the state? Only in a land that experiences -40 degree temps, and -80 degree wind chills would this be a real thing. (But, this has been a nice summer.)
Storms will develop late this afternoon across western MN, spread eastward tonight, and exit to the south Wednesday. Large hail, damaging winds, and a few tornadoes are possible, particularly in the enhanced risk area.
