Central Minnesota voters re-elected all four members of the Minnesota House of Representatives which cover a majority of the Stearns County area. Voters also re-elected one state senator from the area and chose a new senator for an open seat.
The two incumbents have been re-elected to Waite Park City Council. Mike Linquist and Chuck Schneider are the top two voter getters with 40 percent and 38 percent of the vote respectively.
Nickelodeon started the poll back in 1988, and it has accurately predicted six out of the seven presidential elections since. Over 900,000 kids cast their vote this year.
Minnesota as a state has a long tradition of voting for the Democratic candidate for president. In the last presidential election in 2012 President Barack Obama received 53 percent of the vote, while Republican candidate Mitt Romney got 45 percent.
