Career Advice You Shouldn’t Ignore
In this work a day world, a new survey says (and no shock here) that most of us hate our jobs, but are too afraid to quit. Here are three things to try that could lead to success.
Use a Little Patience
Axl Rose had it right. All we need is just a little patience. Or a lot, if you're like me. If you're on the hunt for a new job, be patient. You know you're talented, but there are a lot of talented people out there. Just be patient. Anything that's worth having is worth waiting for, but make sure you're doing something every day to do get you closer to where you want to be.
Don't Waste Time
Talking on the phone, tweeting, and being on Facebook are all great ways to waste time, but if you keep telling people who ask you to do things that you're too busy to help, but in reality you're just wasting time, eventually people will stop asking you to do things and while that may be what you want when you say "I wish people would just leave me alone" you're in danger of being perceived as useless. Then you're really going to be bored. Successful people are very busy because they're effective in their positions and people know they can get it done, so if you wonder if you're spending too much time social not-working, you probably are and others know it too, so log out of Facebook and go ask someone if they need help with something.
Ask For Help
While successful people always seem busy because people are always asking them to do things, they also aren't shy about asking for help. Asking for help also gets things done a little faster. If you see others asking for help, that means they are building a team and getting tasks accomplished. If you're drowning in the weeds all by yourself, the one who asks for help will beat you every single time.
