As someone who grew up reading both Calvin & Hobbes and a fair amount of The Far Side, I found this documentary fascinating.  It's called Dear Mr. Watterson and it delves into the popularity of the Calvin & Hobbes comic strips.

It's interesting to see, as they're interviewing other artists, the visible impact that Mr. Watterson's artwork has had on comics.  It's also sad to hear that comic strips are struggling to find a voice and a canvas in today's digital world.

To this day I still have a number of Calvin & Hobbes comic strip books at home.  After watching this documentary, I pulled one out and started re-reading it, because this documentary gave me a fresh look at the strips I had looked at over and over again over the years.

If you are a Calvin & Hobbes fan, this is a must see.  Right now it is available through Netflix, but CLICK HERE to find other ways to get your hands on Dear Mr. Watterson.
