ST. CLOUD -- New information regarding the fire that happened early Sunday, the Assistant Fire Marshal Phillip Schaefer says the family can not return to the home due to water damage in the basement, the kitchen and whole house having smoke damage. Schaefer says the cause of the fire is still under investigation.

A fire broke out earlier this (Sunday) afternoon at a home on the north side of St. Cloud.

The St. Cloud Fire department was called to 2805 4th Street North at about 12:00 p.m.

The fire started in the back of the home, a man, a woman and two children were inside the house during the fire, all escaped the fire without injuries.

Jerry Williams the boyfriend to the woman said he came to visit the children. Four of the children were not home but the other two were downstairs watching TV when they heard the smoke detector go off.

Willams says his girlfriend opened the back door and the whole deck was on fire and smoke filled the house. They screamed for their two children and exited through the front door.

Williams is not sure where they will go at this time.

Battalion Chief Jerry Raymond says there is an estimated 45 thousand dollar damage cost.
