‘Blue Monday’ Has Got Many Minnesotans Feeling Depressed
My hair straightener didn't work this morning, I ate a protein bar that made me feel super sick and I woke up five minutes late. It's safe to say it's not the best day I've ever had. I'm not the only Minnesotan having a bad day either.
Today is actually the most depressing day of the year according to a British psychologist. It's called Blue Monday. The formula they used to come up with their hypothesis includes the fact that the weather is nasty, the excitement of the holidays is wearing off, people are starting to fail on their New Year's resolutions, they're in debt from the holidays and vacation is nowhere in sight.
Well, if you weren't having a bad day, reading that will certainly put you in a bad mood. I think that a bad day can become a self fulfilling prophesy, so let's all do our best to focus on the positives and beat the blues.
