ALBANY -- A bicyclist was hurt after he ran into a car that pulled out in front of him Saturday afternoon.

The incident happened at about 1:30 p.m. at the intersection of 300 Street and 223 Avenue in Farming Township, just south of Albany.

The Stearns County Sheriff's Office says 45-year-old Jeffery Damm, of Minneapolis, was biking in a race heading north on 223 Avenue when a vehicle pulled out in front of him off of 300 Street, causing the two to hit.

Damm was treated by Albany Rescue at the scene before being taken to St. Cloud Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

45-year-old Ronald Buerman, of Albany, was the driver of the vehicle. He told authorities he did not see the bicyclist coming.

The crash is under investigation.
