Recede, Wrapped in Red, and go ahead and put Christmas & Chill on ice for a moment — while holiday albums might be dominating radio waves, there are plenty of other pop LPs worthy of soundtracking snowfall or skating.

In 2018, and between the worlds of electro-pop, K-pop and even a little bit o’ Xtina-style Liberation, some of your favorite recording artists put up huge efforts, and proved that while singles are king, there’s still something to be said for a larger collections of work. Because ultimately, Ariana Grande’s Sweetener is more than just “breathin,” and Troye Sivan’s Bloom can’t possibly be reduced to its title track.

So while albums by Bing Crosby or Carole King might be occupying the most valuable real estate in storefronts through December 31, we’d like to remind you that Years & Years, Jess Glynne and many more have put forth projects equally deserving of a few spins.
