I just got back from a vacation in Texas and though, technically, I think Texas is still a part of the United States...it sure is different down there! Every Saturday afternoon the local bar in town draws a crowd for Belt Sander Racing. If you've never witnessed it, here's your chance.
This morning, when I showed up for work, there were flowers on my desk. I usually try to avoid my desk because visiting it means I actually might be inclined to do some work. So, someone else said, "Do you know there are flowers on your desk?" Mistake, I thought. Nope.
I've spent most of my days in close proximity to the mighty Mississippi. There's something about the river - the beauty, the majesty, the nature - that I really, really love. I've taken many walks along many stretches of its banks but I've never seen a river walk like the one in San Antonio, Texas.
I love pizza. Which is good because pizza and I spend quite a few Friday nights together, snuggling on the couch. Make an awesome Valentine's Day pizza for your sweetie.....even if your sweetie is yourself.
We've had such a great, mild winter for getting outdoors! This weekend, the Sherburne National Wildlife Refuge invites you to attend their annual Winterfest celebration on Saturday, February 4 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. This free family event offers an exciting day of outdoor activities celebrating winter and focusing on how both wildlife and people manage to thrive in Minnesota’s months of snow and cold temperatures.
Kelly Clarkson rules the Pop charts but she's been dabbling in the Country scene for a while. She'll be part of Blake Shelton's team on the new season of The Voice and she's performing with Jason Aldean at the Grammys next month.
Now, she's released a Country version of the first single from her album Stronger, "Mr. Know It All".
My girl and I love a holiday and especially a holiday that involves a lot of chocolate. Yesterday, we decided to get busy on a Valentine's feeder for the birds...tomorrow, we'll move on to the chocolate. Oh, who are we kidding? We're about ten minutes away from some chocolate!
After our first real snowfall of the winter earlier this week, my daughter and I hit the sledding hill in Becker. There was a boy already there OWNING the hill with a very cool sled that looked something like this. Now we can all make our own and be king of the sledding hill!
Yes, it's true - I eat lots of stuff that I shouldn't. Parents know, though, that only the best is good enough for our little darlings. Which is why I made homemade animal crackers (yes, I know they look like hearts - haven't you ever seen a wild heart out in the woods?) for my little girl.
