How often have you said, "Im never thirsty." "I hate water." "I don't like the taste of water."  There could be a very good reason you find yourself making these comments, and it's called chronic dehydration.

As your body gets used to chronic dehydration, we lose our appetite  for drinking water when we really need it. Since water accounts for more than half of our body mass, it is a bigger problem for us than you may realize.

YOUR BLOOD VOLUME

Since blood volume is made up of about 83% water, dehydration can be a serious problem for your health. You can compare your body running without water, to a car running without fuel. Without gasoline, your car won't start. Without oil and lubricants, your car breaks down. The same thing happens to your body. Since blood serves as the delivery system of nutrients for your body, it's really important that you give your body what it needs to make the delivery service operate at optimum levels.

TAKE THE DEHYDRATION TEST- DO YOU SUFFER FROM THE FOLLOWING:

  • SUGAR CRAVINGS- Since we often mistake thirst for hunger, we reach for sugary snacks. Constant snacking or craving sweets can be one big give away that you are chronically dehydrated.
  • ALLERGIES-  When your body is dehydrated, your histamine levels can increase, causing your immune system to get knocked off balance. This imbalance can create the perfect environment for mold, dust, pollen and animal allergies to manifest themselves.
  • DEPRESSION, IRRITABILITY, MENTAL FOG- Since your brain relies heavily on your bodies blood supply, being dehydrated means mental and emotional imbalances, because your brain isn't getting what it needs to survive properly. If you're depressed, irritable, or have mental fog, it just might be that you are chronically dehydrated.
  • ACID REFLUX, CONSTIPATION, DIGESTIVE AILMENTS - If you are suffering from any of these  conditions, they are some of the least known, but very common ailments for those suffering from Chronic Dehydration.
  • ONGOING STRESS- Are you always feeling stressed? Stress at work? Stress at home? Stress also adds to the dehydratioin of the body.

BOTTLE WATER VS. GOOD OLD FASHIONED TAP WATER

Your best bet to getting the hydration that your body requires, is to drink plain old tap water out of a glass. Many people spend hundreds of dollars on bottled waters, but because water quality tests are not required by the FDA, many have been recalled in recent years due to findings of arcenic, bromate, mold, bacteria and cleaning compounds. Yikes! The health risks of the plastic packaging are also very unclear. If you worry that your water may not be pure, you can always opt for a home filtration system. Sometimes the cheapest solutions are still our best solutions.
