After the sad departure of Kristen Wiig from SNL, news broke this weekend that Andy Samberg is also leaving SNL.

Kristen and Andy were in my eyes, the two funnies cast members, and now both won't be back. I loved Andy's parodies, especially when Justin Timberlake was involved. Digital Shorts are what kept me interested in Saturday Night Live. The funny bits I can watch over and over thanks to the internet. As with anyone leaving a job that that loved, Andy says it was a hard decision to make;

"It's an incredibly emotional and strange moment in my life.  Obviously it's not a huge shock, but I did officially decide not to come back . . . [it was] one of the hardest decisions I've ever made."

While his departure has been rumored for a few months, it looks like he even pre-meditated his departure in the Season Finale with his "Lazy Sunday 2" rap.

"On these New York streets I hone my fake rap penmanship / That's how it began, and that's how I'm-a finish it."

Here is the original "Lazy Sunday" that put Andy on the map during his first season in 2005.

I hope we can continue to see Andy's humor in the future! More time for The Lonely Island?!
