My family and I went to see American Idol Live at the Target Center this past Monday night.  I didn't go in with big expectations and really wasn't interested in going at all to be honest.  I have to admit, I'm not the biggest fan of the franchise anymore and I think Idol starting loosing its appeal (3) seasons ago.  With so many other reality singing competition shows coming out since Idols debut, its getting harder & harder for me to invest in a show, that in my opinion, isn't what it use to be.

All that said, the American Idol Live tour stop in Minneapolis didn't disappoint!  The Idols brought their A-Game to the Target Center and even I was on my feet fifteen minutes into the show.  I was super impressed with Jessica Sanchez, Joshua Ledet and of course season 11 winner Phillip PhillipsJessica had a moment with her version of the Tina Turner classic "Proud Mary" and Joshua brought the house to their feet with his rendition of "Its a Man's World" from the Godfather of Soul, James Brown.

I could have done without Deandre and Heejun (who just looked uncomfortable on stage and didn't impress with his version of Party Rock).  Colton, Elise, Erika (who's version of Glitter in the Air was amaing), Hollie and Skylar didn't disappoint the fans either!  All of them held their own on the stage and had some moments to be proud of (Elise is a rockstar hands down), she made the surviving members of Led Zeppelin proud, that's for sure!

The climax of the show for me, was when Phillip Phillips took the stage and did a smooth / unplugged version of the Usher smash "Nice & Slow."  On a scale from 1-10, I would give this show a 7 and look forward to hearing what these kids will do next!
