UPDATE: 8-Year-Old Girl Hit By Pickup In Albany is Okay

ALBANY -- An eight-year-old girl who was hit by a pickup in Albany Thursday morning is in stable condition.

The Albany Police Department says the incident happened just after 7:30 a.m. on 6th Street.

Kevin Mader of Freeport was going north when he struck Jade Ottoson. Witnesses say Mader was not speeding, but he was not able to stop, and the Ottoson was struck with the front bumper. The girl was crossing the street on her way to the school bus, which was down the street.

Ottoson was taken to the St. Cloud hospital and treated for a leg injury.
