A money-saving experiment by a few Minnesota school districts that switched to four-day school weeks is coming to a close because of academic performance concerns. The shorter weeks were widely popular among families and teachers because of  the three-day weekends.

Five districts have been approved for a transitional year and will return to five-day weeks next year. Three districts will go back this fall, one voluntarily.  Three others with four-day weeks will come up for renewal sometime in 2015 / 2016.

I would've loved a 4-day school week when I was a kid!  What do you think?  For more on the story, click here.
